2013 Tribute Banquet

One of the most beloved young Rabbinic couples in Los Angeles, Rabbi Shimon and Rebbitzen Huvi Abramczik brought their special warmth and radiance to Los Angeles in 2004 when they came to LINK after an extended stay in Yerushalayim at the Mir Yeshiva and Ner L’Elef. For the next 4 years, the larger LINK and Westwood community benefited immensely from their Torah dedication, teaching clarity and sweetness. As shining examples of Torah and humility, the entire Abramczik family including their beautiful children, have deeply moved hundreds of searching Jews.

Reb Shimon is now a beloved Rebbe at YULA, combining masterful teaching and sincerity with unconditional love for every student. As Israel Guidance Counselor and Director of Student Activities, he travels far and wide with his talmidim, creating bonds of love and empowerment along the way. In his spare time, Rabbi Abramczik, teaches Gemara to adults twice weekly at Aish HaTorah, honing skills he first perfected at LINK and serves as the Rav of the teenage minyan at Aish on Shabbos mornings.

Rebbitzen Huvi’s self-effacing warmth as teacher of young and adult women, selflessness and gracious hachnosas orchim are as legendary as her inimitable Shabbos challah. Besides teaching many women one on one over the years, she also teaches at the Routes Women’s Seminary. Her greatest accomplishment - her children, combine eidlekeit (sweetness), love of Torah and impeccable middos, yet another tangible legacy of her special teaching.
LINK proudly honors our special Rabbinic Couple, Shimon and Huvi Abramczik on their distinguished Torah career of teaching and service to Klal Yisrael.

Join us for a special evening of tribute to two beloved members of our community, Max and Marianne Hecht, aleihem hashalom. These two special and generous Jews gave a lending hand, a listening ear, an open home and wonderful smiles to all whom they met and as such were walking examples of Kiddush Hashem in our community. As Holocaust survivors, they were able to come to America, and rebuild what was lost. Supportive parents and grandparents, nothing gave them greater joy than to see their sons and grandsons grow in Yiddishkeit. We are fortunate to have their children and grandchildren as learners, daveners and supporters of LINK.

LINK honors their memory with special words of tribute and remembrance from their loving children and grandchildren – and with the eternity of Torah. We dedicate our weekly popular Shabbos Afternoon Shiur (currently given by Rabbi Gavriel Heimowitz) to the aliyas nishmasam (elevation of their souls) and proudly rename it the Max and Marianne Hecht Z”L Shiur on Ramban.
